AFFILIATED Monastic Communities

There are a four monastic communities in Nepal and India that are closely affiliated with Kopan Monastery and the Kopan Nunnery. They are managed by Kopan who also assist with the fundraising for these projects.

Two of them, Thubten Shedrup Ling and Tsum Nunnery and Monastery, are located in very remote areas of Nepal where survival is a daily struggle, while Yulo Koepa Nunnery and the Kopan Hostel in Sera are in India.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has repeatedly stressed how important it is to support these places of Dharma practice, as a means to secure the survival of the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition in a world more in tune with external pleasures. These monasteries and nunneries are managed by Kopan Monastery, who is also assisting with fundraising for the projects.
