Please note:
The monastery gates close at 5 pm.
It is best to time your flight so you can arrive at Kopan during office hours: 9am -11.30am, 1pm - 5 pm.
If your flight arrives after 7 pm, we recommend you to stay in Boudhanath overnight.
For accommodation bookings in Boudha google: 'Boudhanath Guesthouses and Hotels'.

Translation

Do you require Translation? If yes, we will be offering translation in these languages only - please bring a manual FM radio. Not required Italian Spanish

Retreat Material

Participants will need the 2020 edition of the Retreat Prayer Book, it's available digitally on the FPMT Foundation Store website, you can find it here.

Kopan can make available hard copies for those who don’t have digital devices. The price will depend on demand, the Retreat Prayer Book will be handed to you upon arrival in our reception and you can pay for it then.

If you have hard copies of the Retreat Prayer Book from previous years, you will need to print and bring with you the errata sheets to update your text: (A5, spread)

For those needing translations, once you book and are accepted into the retreat, we will put you in contact with the translator of your specific language so they can inform you about the retreat material in your own language.

Please read the information on accommodation carefully. We only have very few single rooms, most people will be accommodated in double rooms, 4-bed rooms and dormitories. Accommodation is allocated by registration number. Registration numbers are allocated by booking dates. Your accommodation will be confirmed to you upon arrival, we cannot confirm your accommodation before. Couples don't share accommodation at Kopan. Regarding payment of deposit: Payment of deposit is not required at this stage. If you have been accepted to this retreat, you will receive an email by the 1st of March 2024, with information of a non-refundable deposit of US$ 150 to secure your place.
