After five long years, our precious Guru Khensur Lama Lhundrup Rigsel has returned to Kopan.
His incarnation, Tenzin Rigsel Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness 14 Dalai Lama in June this year. He will be enthroned on the 6th March 2017 in a grand ceremony attended by many lamas, students and friends from all over the world. Lama Zopa Rinpoche will attend the ceremony and lead the planned pilgrimages.

We are in the process of sending you the registration form. If you haven't heard from us by end of January, please contact us.

You have received or will soon receive a registration form to confirm your booking. In it we will let you know about your accommodation, participation in the pilgrimages etc.

Arrival Day is the 3, 4 and 5 March. During these days you are free to come and go as you like. A great opportunity for some private  pilgrimage, and of course, shopping. Please note we are not able to accept arrivals before March 3. However, you are welcoem to stay longer.

The Great Prayerfesitval follows straight after the enthronement. If you wish to attend this, or stay on for the teachings by Jangtse Choeje Rinpoche, let us know.

Your Arrival in Nepal: To make it easy for you we are planning to have a welcome desk at the airport - please look for it when you come out of the arrival hall. The Welcome desk will help you with transport to your allocated accommodation.

Remember that you are coming to a monastery and bring clothing suitable for this environment. You can check our recommended dress code here.

Weather - March will be an in-between month - not to cold, not too hot. You will still need a warm shawl or jacket for the evenings. It might rain occasionally, so an umbrella is useful, for both the sun and the rain.

Mobile connection:  you can buy a Wifi package at the airport  in the arrival hall, which includes a sim-card for Nepal. It is definitely useful to have, so you can receive our updates and messages during the event.

Some people have asked us about suitable offerings for the incarnation. All educational toys, books, CDs, story books, coloring-in books, puzzles, soft toys are fine. Please choose something that is suitable for a child under 6.
